Automatic shifts through the gears is not smooth. The adjustment of the automatic transmission brake band is normally the problem. Normal wear causes it to get out of adjustment. I did this adjustment about a year ago, but did not keep track of the documentation. Now it appears I need to adjust again. I do not know which direction of turning the adjustment screw tightens the band and which direction loosens the band. The Haynes manual threatens destruction if the band is loosened too much, but does not say which direction to turn.
I saw this posted about a year ago and I can't find it. Whatever was posted, did a very good job of how to do the whole procedure, as well as, adjustment screw direction.
Any help?
