I think it could handle it but i'm unsure about your hp numbers. The thing i keep hearing with people that abuse sti's is breaking the rear axel or diff. , not sure which atm.

You might have to check your rear diff gear ratio to make sure its the same as the front diff on the tranny when you do the swap on a gc8.

of course i am getting a GDB rear diff with the 6spd... and they are only two gear ratio settings... but i just wanted to know if the 6spd won't break if i put it in my 450hp GC8 STI ver. 3 i just put in a ORC twin plate last month and another question came up.... can i use the GC8 clutch or do i need to buy the GDB clutch...? . i heard you can use them both since the engine is about the same size.

With all that horsepower you may have to get upgraded gears in the sti tranny to be safe but i have heard of 500hp applications being put in the tranny before. I know the wrx tranny has too much case flex to hold up against that power.

With all do respect to the gc8 that clutch doesn't stand a chance at that power. The torque i'm positive will burn that clutch to pieces. I think with 450hp your going to need a very strong clutch. I believe ACT has a full plate that handles 500lbs of torque should be enough.

Edit: I'm gonna do some research for ya and see if i can find out the torque and hp limits of the sti tranny. bbl
