5th gear slips into neutral, HELP!

My 00 suby has a performance clutch in it, sometimes when I'm in 5th gear and let the gas go, it will slip into neutral. Is this a transmission problem or do I need a new clutch? Comments appreciated. Thanks

That's a transmission problem.

Agree, that's transmission. If it were me, I'd park it immediately and have it cracked open for a good look. You just might save $$$ on parts you might have to replace if you continue to drive it and it grenades on you. If it were clutch you'd see problems in some or all the other gears. Let us know what you do/what happens. Its all science experiments around here.......

It happened 2 my 98 WRX! It wud slip out of 5th and sumtimes crunch going in! It was under warranty so i got it replaced! U shud look in2 getting it reconditioned or if its still under warranty getting it replaced quick b4 it gets worse!
