Is the 2005 WRX going to have a 6 speed? or at least a better tranny?

The 04s have the double coned synchros also. I was just talking to a subaru mechanic the other day. couldnt really make sense of what he said about the function though.

a double cone synchro is better than a single, and worse than a triple.

essentially it allows for a faster, more aggressive shift while still allowing the gears to spool up.

from the fsm, the older trannies had single cone 1,3,4,5, triple cone 2, no synchro on r.
