'02 WRX, 5spd.....stuck in third...help

Hello all. I have an '02 WRX, 5spd, bone stock. I bought the car used with ~50k on the clock. i now have ~90k on the car. I have had zero problems with it thus far, except for the nice 1st gear entry problems/grind when going faster than like 5mph.
So i went to work this morning, and about 2 blocks from my house, i got stuck in 3rd gear. The shifter is stuck, and i can't get into any other gear with the clutch completely pushed in. luckily, i was able to limp back home in 3rd gear and take my van to work.

So i obviously haven't been able to troubleshoot it much yet. What should i look for/try when i get home? please help. thanks.

if it's the original stock clutch then that would be the problem. your clutch is nearly worn out. get a new one.

lol...did i have it looked at...c'mon man, i'm not gonna get raped by someone less competant than myself...

the shift rod was so worn, the shift rod's finger was jammed...new shift rod and a new 1-2 fork and it worked fine...for about 1000 miles until 1st gear started to spin...not sure which side it's spinning on; of course, it could be both, but unlikely.

fact is that this is a POS transmssion
