Slow off the line???

OK, so i'm running an 04' WRX with the following:

Eibach Pro Kit
Cobb Short throw
Perin Light Weight Crank Pulley
GReddy Evo 2 Exhaust
AEM Short RAM

And i'm slow off the line...That's the only thing I can figure. I'm only running 14.9's at like 92mph...the only two things I can think of, is I suck off the line, not giving it enough while holding the clutch in, or my tires, Factory Protenza's, RE92's, are really killing me...I'm leaning towards me sucking...

So I need some help, some ideas or a step in the right direction of getting off the line so I can get down to 13.9 where I should be!!

Thanks

Chris

Your tires aren't doing anything to help you. RE92's are notorious for being far from grippy, and for a hard launch, where you want your tires to grab to make use of your hp, it makes sense that you're a little slow. Change out your tires and if nothing else the car will handle. Could be your technique too.... shrugs. Be safe.

Newark DE, haha man I grew up about 5 miles from there. Let me guess, you were racing at Cecil. I'll be up there in mid-July. And give it a little more gas off the line. Don't be scerd.!!

You can hear the dragstrip from the house I grew up in. Do you know where North East is? Anyway, I'd try and get some better tires if finances permit. You don't have to dump the clutch from insane RPMs like so many do. Rev it up until about 3,000 keeping the turbo spooled. When the light turns green feather the clutch out quick and stand on it. Be ready to hit 2nd because it should get there quick.

Have you had the car tuned wiith that intake. Most intakes actually mess up perfomance because they create turbulence and mess with the MAF sensor. As others said the stock tire do lack in the grip area.

it's actually a short ram so no messing with MAF... I was very careful in picking one that wouldn't...that's why i didn't go with the cold air instead...MAF would have gone bananas - b-a-n-a-n-a-s!!!

I really do love this board for all the damn good info!!

If the track at Cecil is in fact where you're going, you should really look for the WRX crowd that gathers there. There's a guy with the screen name of Dug-e-fresh who seems to me to be very friendly and definitely an Impreza lover.

I'm not saying that anything anyone said above is not true, but take your tires for instance.

I went 12.7 with a 1.71 60' with my re92's. They sure do suck...for grip, but isn't that what you want? In the case of 4 wheels getting power, spinning tires is a good thing...especially when you're probably not putting down much more than 200whp.
