You def. need to practice launching. You should be easily under the 2.00 mark at 60ft. It's what AWD excels at. Good luck with it man.

I have been experimenting with this method. When you say feather I assume you mean a rapid but smooth lift of the pedal ? I think I read too much into the tranny threads. I am reluctanct to rev past 3500 rpm for fear that I will break my gears. What I am getting is some spin, a bogless launch for about a car length or so and then I bog. Is this due to my low rpm launch ?

You're not feathering it enough. It launches initially because the clutch is still slipping and the turbo is spooled but as soon as you let it all the way out it bogs. Feather it more and stay in the gas.

I will work on this. Sure sounds like what I need to change. I have been feathering 90% then lifting faster at the end. I did not realize I was doing it until I read this.

thanks

Practice makes perfect, you'll get it. But you are right, once you get the first 80% of the clutch out let the end out quick. KEEP IT SPOOLED TOO!!! I'd invest in a new clutch now so you won't be so hestitant to practice and get it right.

You must be a mind reader ! My car has 58,000 miles on it. I figure I can learn on this one and then replace it. I plan on a new clutch and a set of RA gears over winter.
