Messed up transmissiong after dumping clutch help!!!
Hey guys it's Mike. So I got my new 02 WRX I've been working on slipping the clutch cause that's the best way to start it according to you guys. And well my friend drove the car with me in it the other night and tried dumping the clutch. He revved to about 5k RPM's and just dumped it. Right after he did that now the car's transmission makes a clicking noise and you can hear it spinning as well anytime you don't have the clutch pressed in. Anyone got any ideas of what it is? And is it safe to drive? Also just to make sure one more time slipping the clutch is the best way to start a WRX right? If not what is? And how bad does it hurt the clutch to slip the clutch? Also last question my car is still under manufacturer's bumper to bumper warranty will it cover fixing this there are no mods on my car to void the warranty? Thanks for the help guys. Yours, Mike

Ouch I cant read it no more, Why would you dump the clutch on an awd car??? Did it bog down? And if so What did you acomplish by doing that? My god man transmission work on that thing is not pleasant. I've been a mechanic for a few years and I hope you've learned your lesson. Good luck. If you need help you can pm me,

my car clicks when i'm shifting around when it's off. lol. dealer says it's some kinda LSD or something. lol. i know nothing about cars.
oh as for the warranty, i think it's like 3 years... or 30K/50K miles.
no mods, just tell em you broke it. THey'll fix it. My friend on the other hand has a crap load of mods and he breaks his tranny every 15-20K. lol. dealer hates him.
