I'm working on a Suby project, but I also own an S54 M Roadster. Until they make something quicker, it is the quickest 0-60 production BMW (even quicker than Z8). It basically has the same engine with 315 hp as the e46 M3. And then a popular mod is to change the 3:15 rear diff. to a 3:46.
Hard to get meaningful production numbers from BMW, but we think there were 1200 to 1500 of the S54 M Roadsters made and maybe only 700 of the M coupes.
So you won't run into them often out there, but when you do, they are much quicker than the older (pre 2001) 240 hp versions.
The one in the video does look to be Estoril Blue, so it's probable that it's that guy with the S52 and that turbo'd engine.
