Haven't some STi owners experienced driveline or axle breakage when launching their car in that manner?

Did you just drop the clutch or slip it?

Yeah it was. But truthfully, if you heard a LOUD bang and the car died, then yes, you probably really did break something. I mean, how often does your car just up and die with a bang when everything is A-OK?

havent you ever heard the expression, "going out with a bang" ? LOL, well thats what he did! Yea, I'd say you did a good job breaking something....I foresee a trip to the dealership in your very near future. good luck

In other words, this was all an April Fool's joke.

My guess is the clutch plate couldn't handle the load, so it slipped bad enough to cause you to stall. I wouldn't recommend trying that too many more times, however, unless you take it to Infineon on Wednesday nights, where we can all watch and learn from your technique.

It would be difficult not to get the same reaction with hundreds of people viewing in any other forum since people know how brittle this cars tranny is when abused.

Good to hear it's good though.

Not a good idea.

sounds like you busted a gear. You jacked something up in the driveline.

how's it running now?
I'm hoping this is some kind of lame *** April fools joke.

If it's not...good luck getting that warrantied. not gonna happen.

basically dropping like that is not a good idea in AWD cars.
