Bone stock '06 WRX TR 1/4 mile times
I just got back from Virginia Motorsports Park with my 2006 WRX TR. The strip is located at ~100ft above sea level and according to the National Weather Service conditions were as follows:
Relative Humidity 65%
Temperature 50F
Dew Point 28F
Pressure 29.96 in. Hg
My car has just over 5,000 miles on the clock, and I'm running a 'true' factory stock set-up (nothing from the intake, exhaust, engine management, etc has been changed). I used Shell 93 octane gas (had a 1/4 tank), tires were at 40psi all around and I did no weight reduction other than remove my spare tire.
While I've been drag racing for 4+ years now, this was my first time with a WRX. I made a total of 8 passes and my three fastest are displayed below along with the run where I got my fastest 60ft but missed the 2-3 upshift...
On all my runs, I launched between 4,000-5,000rpms with some clutch slip. I'm car #802:
I was talking to an '02 WRX owner at the track and he mentioned that when he had a bov & TBE but was otherwise stock he trapped at 97mph and was able to run a low 13.7 - he was very impressed to see the 2.5L WRXs running so strong from the factory. While I didn't flat-foot shift my car, 95% of my shifting tonight was extremely fast & crisp. I netted my fastest traps & et's with upshifts at: 1-2 6,500rpms, 2-3 6,400rpms, 3-4 6,250rpms.
Here's a couple of pics showing my car in the pits, staging lanes and a shot of my 'factory-stock' engine bay.

good job dude, when i was stock my PB was 14.5(just dp)..that was here in Hawai'i with our junk weather and track....just imagine if we had a better track and the weather was as cold and with AWD dyno...then majority of us would be running more fast....

Also, no need to shift to 5th gear in the 1/4 mile on a stock WRX. 4th is good until just over 130mph!

Wow, the stock 2.5L wrx's have potential. Good runs. You should be able to get into the 13's bone stock. Get your 60 foot times down in the 1.7 to 1.8 range and you should be in the 13's. I like what I see with the 06 wrx's. Way to go.

If you look at the scanned slips I posted, on my run with the 1.91 60ft, at the 330ft mark I was .14 seconds ahead of my split at the same mark on my 14.01 pass. Had I not missed the 2-3 upshift, I could have had a 13.8x et that night.

hey I think I saw you that day at VMP...I have a silver 04 wrx that was basically stock but with a custom magnaflow cat-back and SPT intake on it. Ran 14.5's that day, couldn't get a good launch though. I ran again last friday but with the Cobb Stage 2 map, invidia DP, and catless UP and got a 13.825 at best with a 1.91 60ft...yea still need to work on the launch
Anyways, congrats on the times, maybe I'll see you around at VMP again
I'll try to get more pics and timeslip pics later on this week

ok here are my fastest time slips so far...yea I know I need to work on the launch and figure out the best upshift rpm's. Do any of you guys have any tips? I am currently running: Cobb Stage 2 OTS map, Invidia divorced WG DP, 2.5" custom Magnaflow CB, catless UP, and SPT intake. Running on 93 oct Shell gas as well. Hopefully when I come back to VMP next time I manage to get 13.6's or so
60' times could be a lot better

An 06-07 wrx redlines at 6200 and hits the rev limiter very shortly after, for sure by 6500, if not sooner.
I have hit mine racing 2.0 liter wrx's with redlines at 7200 twice because I got caught up with their shifting instead of my own, but that was a few months ago when i first got my 07.
So you should have hit your rev limiter for sure 2 out of the 3 times you shifted if you shifted at those rpms, which would have given you a much slower time so there's no way you shifted at those rpms...
