2.5 swap wrx vs. svt lightning

I came across a guy today running an 03 SVT Lightning, it was bad. He told be he was making 575 hp with and upgraded blower ect.. im guessing FWHP. He also said he ran at e town and was running 11.90's. So we raced from the line i got 4 lenghts off the line on him by 110 mph I had him by about a car lenght? These are my mods: 04 rex
2.5 stage 1 axis motor
sti type ra gears
vf-22 20 psi 93 oct. ecu tek w/ alcohol injection
sit injectors
walbro fuel pump
TXS TMIC, bov
TXS Full Exhaust

I did not think i was going to win but some how i did 3 times? Could i be in the low 12's?? Is it even posable with my mods.

well you get him out of the whole then he plays catch up. at those speeds after 110, is where he would catch up and pass. i'd guess your car could run mid-low 12's based on what happened. u ever go from a roll? or past 110?

I have to question the 1/4 mile time the lightning guy gave first. A friend of mine has a lightning. I know that it has been dyno tuned by "Johnny lightning" who is the equivalent to cobb, vishnu, turboxs etc in the lightning world. I know he is making well into the 500's in hp but I do not remember the actual number. He has yet to get into the 12's. He is about as close he can get with a 13.009 or something to that effect but still no 12's. Granted 500 plus hp is a lot but remember, the lightning is still a truck. There is a lot if weight to overcome. My neighbor found that out when I smoked him and his new hemi charger I drive a 03 wagon with a Cobb stage one reflash. Stage two as soon as the UPS man drops of my pipes and exhaust.

when i was at the track i didn't see a lightning not run at least 12's. they just need traction. those trucks are veryyy fast. your friend should be in the 11's.

That is what I woud expect. He fiddled with the suspension and shift points all season finally going with racing slicks at the end. I agree about the 12's but my Hemi powered AAR 'Cuda( engie swap) did not run in the 11's without some crazy gearing and chasis mods. I am pretty sure it was lighter and at least just as powerfull as the lightning. You have witnessed what you are talking about first hand so I have to accept that lightnings running in the 12's is common. I will show my friend your post just to bug him

Nice race, but the lightnings problly never hook up off the line, or he was lying to you. You have to remeber are cars are nasty on the launch no matter where we are. Unlike that guy who spun his @$$ off. Once again nice race. (i hate lightnings)
