I just joined, and figured this would be a good place to start. I took my 2002 WRX (bone stock) to the dragstrip for the first time this past weekend. I wanted to get a few base runs in before I start doing modifications. I have to say that Autocross is my thing and 1/4 mile is totally new to me. I did manage a 14.5 at 92.7 on my second run. I since have been thinking about mistakes I might have made during the run? I ran it up to 7K between shifts and held it in third to the end. I was right at 7K when I crossed. I didn't want to lose time shifting at the end, but wonder if I topped out and lost ground by not shifting? BTW I ran against a late model Mustang GT on dragslicks. I had him to the 1/8th, but he passed me after that. He ran a 14.2 at 96.
