Is there any identifying markings? serial number?

Well, it's obviously supposed to be one... but if it is, it's from a non-DCCD car. DCCD-equipped STis have a sensor on the diff plate for oil temp. Tell us what any stampings on the side say.

well according to the place that I got it from the car that it came in had DCCD and there was no heat sensor on the rear diff.
From left to right as shown in the picture:
molded into the metal is says S62 / HK is stamped in the center / 828A is stamped where it connects to the drive shaft
