Well i had a 99' GT but it was injured. Now all that remains is the engine/transmission. ALso a few other things (suspension, exhaust, leather seats, rear diff, etc.) remain.
I have been debating what to do with the engine. Here are a few options i have come up with:

1) Buying an older leagacy with a lot of miles or blone engine and putting the EJ25 in it. and the transmission. (and leather seats)

2) Buying an older Impreza perferably a coupe and putting the engine/tranny in it. Would the seats fit?

3) Try to find an 97-99 Legacy with blone engine or no engine. Question on that is where/how do i find that?

4) Buy a 1993 Turbo legacy with 167k miles. Drive that till it blows. Then swap engine? Or should the 2.2t last a lot longer then 167k miles, so sell the 2.5L. Also i should mention the legacy turbo i found is an Auto so i would want to put the transmission in it. Would that cause any complications?
And how much should i spend on a legacy turbo with 167k miles with the body between fair and good condition.

5) Ebay the engine, buy a old truck...
How much would i get for it? (engine/tranny has 39k miles)


Im not sure what to do with my transportation issue here.. I have about 4-5k to spend on getting this next car. If i do swap the engine are the any complications with swaping out an Auto tranny if there is one.
If i get a car with a 5 speed. Are the 5 speeds in the older subarus just as good as one from a legacy GT?

What do you think is my best option? Feel free to mention any other ideas.
