Question svx engine in impreza

is there any way the svx's 3.3L H6 will fit in my 2000 impreza?
and if so will it just fit up to my existing tranny?
thanx.

as i recall the svx is a whole diffrent beast. I think the H6 legacy engine would be an easier go.

you would have some serious issue placing that monster into your car. first of i believe it is a EG33 engine which causes problems becuase it has diffrent mounting points, and tranny mounts then the EJ series engines.

although i am sure people have done this swap before, this just means that it wont be super easy and quick. it will take some fabrication and thinking. where it starts to get interesting is that the 3.3l is a very long engine, so there may be some radiator relocation neccesary.

for the swap it would be easiest to use the EJ30 the newer H6 that is in outbacks. i am not sure as to what model ej30 you would want. i know the newer ones with AVCS should have about 20 more HP (from avcs) but beyond that.

anyway the ej30 s are ej series so the moungint points should work, along with the transmission. the down fall for this over the eg33 is that you lose alittle of the low end torque from the .3l displacement loss.

all in all it would be a good swap, possibly enough to put stock WRXs in there place.

good luck
