Rwd Conversion

I want to make my 2006 wrx rwd and I wanted to know if I need different axels in the back. And do I need to get a differnt driveshaft? Because I'm using it for drifting.

Roel03- We can actually get you a center diff that will convert your tranny to a RWD without damaging your stock unit. as far as the rear end goes, it really depends on how much power you're running. if you're not going too crazy, you can actually just get aftermarket rear axles like from the drive shaft shop and just a upgraded Clutch type rear diff and you'll be ok. or at least good enough for you to practice till you need more power =P

well, here's the thing... to my knowledge, the r200 rear diff and axles will not be a straight plug and play since the hubs are different as well as our rear subframe. Kumakubo had it done by Jun in Japan so unless someone here in the US knows how to do so, the biggest you can go with will be a R180 diff and axles from Sti. honestly, an aftermarket rear diff and axles will be enough to handle quite a bit. like i said previously, figure out what HP you will ultimately have to the wheels, and decide what to get from there.

Do you know how much power the r180 can handle?
