over rev???

over rev???

will over revving the engine cause harm because for the first time i did that and the rev limiter bounced back. i think it didn't even hit the maximum rpm . it this rev cut?

Its fuel cut...a safety measure to prevent reving higher and prevent possible damage. Just dont downshift from 5th to 2nd

Haha, like I did, i got a 98 2.2L. One night i was cruising around 70 or so and accidentally dropped it in 2nd it actually passed the limiter and jumped all the way to 7600 rpm's. Luckily I've had absolutely no problems since and it's been about a year and a half. If u go to scoobymods.com, they show you how to upgrade your fuel lines so that it won't be much of an issue in the long run.
