new engine for my rs

Alright its time to go shopping for an engine. I am looking for a jdm sti engine for my 99 2.5rs. Could I get some information on what engines I am looking for to do the sti swap.

also, nasioc has a pretty extensive archive of information in the swap/conversion forum--might check that out

your question is pretty vague.. what specifically are you looking for?

i heard that the ej22 is a good engine to swap into the rs, you can use the stock tranny with no problem, again from what ive heard

you can use the stock tranny with a wrx motor or an sti motor as well.. almost everything fits between certain subarus. not ALL subarus, but most imprezas.

Alright well a usdm wrx engine sounds resonable. What year/model is best for a 2000/2001 2.5rs? Also what else is needed other than the engine to complete the install?
