Put a cobb AP, a downpipe and a catback on it and you will have a fast car. Do you have any specific reasons that you want to do the swap? Or is it just for more power.

If you want power I recommend swapping your engine for a built engine by gruppe-s, or telling them to build your ej255 engine. I dont really see the point of paying 7 g's for an engine thats a little bit faster... especially if its basically THE SAME ENGINE.

Yea, thats a good idea. I have never heard of subaru doing an sti engine swap and then supporting it under waranty etc..

dude you have a 2.5 turbo in your car that can make plenty of power and can be modified for alot more, learn about the engine you have, do some homework

Easy! I've got the solution...

I'll trade you my 02 WRX and you can swap an sti motor into it. Done!

if you want an STI engine do this

buy an STI intercooler, STI manifold, cobb ap, and the STI badges. Also get a pro-tune.

This should put you around 260-270ish hp so youll be a little short of the STI, but cost you $7000.00

If you have 7g's to spare go for it. If its *mom's* 7g's then might as well get the sti. If she says its too expensive then why are you going to waste more money on an exact same engine? wrx= 23-25g's, sti = 29-33g's..
soo. new wrx (25g) plus sti motor/swap (7g's) = 32-33 g's.. ?
This is going to be a 33g wrx with no brembo's.. no sti shock/springs/ no bbs.. no sexy seats/ no sexy dash// no sexxy.. ?

I have a blue 06 wrx i am still a student so i didn't have enough money to buy a sti. But if you really want to be fast or faster than a stock sti. Just do what i did buy a used turbo back for cheap. Buy a used top mount sti or i bought a spearco. A cobb ap and an sti vf39 this should give you around the same. But i got a 20g so i am putting down more than a stock sti
Don't forgot a protune!
I spent almost 3 thousand because i worked like a dog this summer to buy most of my mods.

I'm basically telling you what almost everyone else is telling you so sorry if it seems repitive, but in all honesty is the truth.

You already have a new 2.5 turbo engine why scrap it for a sti engine and spend loads of money when you can just have good enough power spending less money.

Love what you got! :]
