once you turbo your 2.5rs you've basically just started the timer on the time bomb....as it ticks away you're causing more and more enigine damamge till one day it just pops....about the same time the tranny breaks.....Adam @ LICmotorsports.com played that game for a year or so before he realized that there was no reliability....so he tried a conversion to his own car and now he had to change careers all together....trust, there's a reason all the local bay area RS, Legacy & even some Outback Sport owners are lining up for the swap....reliabilty & mod friendly US EJ20 is piece of mind reincarnation for the older subies....if you saw the LIC site...you must've seen that customers have even come Colorado....late last year a guy by the name of Jeremy with a silver legacy GT sedan came from Seattle....see everybodies doin it!! it's the cool thing to do

Either way call Adam (415)892-7400...maybe you can buy his old 2.5rs turbo kit that's just collecting dust...

If you are already planning a swap you should just get the STI 2.5. Its only around $1500 and will handle a whole lot of power.

Then build up a turbo kit, it would only be around $3000.

Then, buy some www.gimmiegears.com and stand alone ECU.

This will cost around the same as a wrx if not more.

but lots more torque!

you can buy any 93-01 4 door you want to start with.

if you want to make it as light as possible, you should buy the old one with no Powerwindow, no ABS, no passenger airbag.
the interior is looks kinda old but if it doesnt bother you.
93-95 would be perfect for you.
pick one up around $3000, strip it down, spend maybe $3000 on EJ20turbo motor, $2000 on suspention, $2000 on other stuff. with total $10K, you'll have a pretty fast car.

if you want a little more decent trim, you should get 2.5RS.
it comes with powerwindow, ABS, sunroof etc.

exterior is all interchangeable.

Due to an excessive price increase from our U.S. Distributor, we regret to inform our customers that we no longer offer the WRX gear sets. However, for those of you who are still interested in purchasing a quality, proven gear set for the Subaru WRX, we would like to recommend that you contact Possum Bourne Motorsports in New Zealand.

nope sorry
