actually done anything cool with a 97 impreza coupe?

I recently bought one off of a girl that works for my father and i feel that it is.... lacking in most areas. I was thinking about doing an engine swap, but i dont know what would be compatible and what wont.. anyone done something along these lines?

Any one have any ideas??

Any EJ series engine will drop into your engine bay. I've heard of a couple of people doing complete engine/tranny swaps into GC bodies.

 

You can put almost anything Subaru into it. The possiblities are limited only by your pocket book. My 2001 RS coupe has an 04 STI motor and 5 speed from a JDM STI Type-R.

Ive seen the guys from Garage Tuning turn a Brighton into a 6-speed beast and an Outback into an JDM STI-powered wagon. Their next project will be swapping in an H-6 from a Tribeca into an Impreza L.

 

You can do ALOT with the Coupe, STI swaps are alot of fun



and once your done, you'll be lighter and have 2 fewer doors than any WRX or STI here in the states!
