Wink Ej20tt converson to ej20t and some thought on things.

i currently have a 95 legacy, w/ ej2.0 i like it i have one problem though. the shop assures me it is out of a 96 jdmwrx butt the engine is only 18ohp stock and 7pounds of boost. and from a automatic car. i am done with secret engines and mysterous engine shops where i can't know where the engine came form. i am going to order a ej20tt amd make it fit in my legacy i am aware of all the steering colum snafus i am going to make it single turbo. my questions are these
1. where the heck did my originial ej20 come out of and if it is detuned for auomatic use. ccan it be fixed. )probaly not gonn ado this just curious)- i can't ask the shop becasue there engine guys are confidential or some stupid crap like that.
2. what do i need to make the ej20tt work as a single turbo - just the nuts and bolts please i will tackle the beast known as the wiring harness another day.
on a side note the reason i am switching is becasue at 15 pounds of boost the current motor only runs 211hp not bad but not 280.

my curent specs for refrence are
1.manual tranny/fancy clutcch
2.wms-02 sensor
3.greddy bost controller 12 low-15-hiboost
4.safc2 fuel cut controller
5. all th etime and energy need to get this project done.

thankyou all and please give me helpfull critizism thk god bless

alot of hooey!

so far i have gotten the other engine out and managed to compare all i have heard the whol esteerign colum thing seems to be a real small problem compared to what i was lead to think. with soem custom piping i will soon have surmounted that obstacle whil ei haven't actually gotten the other engine in yeat but eye speculation and pictures reveal not a big problem then i was led to bielve.

ok.
your post is totaly confussling.

waht engine is in your car? ej20G single turbo from legacy? what turbine, etc.

the shop is feeding you BS. theres no such thing as a JDM 180 hp EJ20 turbo. the minimum power ona twin turbine legacy JDM ej20 is 250 - AUTOMATIC or not. yes, automatic makes the same power.

the auto and manual twin turbo EJ20 engines are mechanically identical.

there is no such designation as EJ20T or ej20TT. T is idiot speak for dumb shop. you most likely have a EJ20H twin turbo if 95/96 era. its a good motor, beats the snot outa a EJ205 anyday.

im new on i-club (or at least this revision), but im OG on iclub old skool. swap star in the nasioc conversion forum (did first RHD impreza and EJ20H twin turbo longblock conversion).

if you already have a EJ20 single turbo motor to steal bits off of, converting the twin to a single is a piece of cake.

211 ps at the crank or at the wheels? the weakest JDM wrx made 240 at the crank (ej20G wagon with TD04).

the longblock of the ej20H is better than the WRX longblock, so with exact turbine setup power will increase

wowzers

i want to swap out engines not nessacarly mess with the original engine i have the new ej20tt i want to figure out the best way to proceed
1. stock with twin setup problems is it will be a ***** to wire up and i don't have any fancy vacuum stuff
2. single turbo setup problems will this drop the hp i was told that the twin makes 280 becasue it has a twin setup can i make this a 276 hp engine with a single turbo if how what turbo is best? it also comes with the stock tranny 5 speed. for the ej20tt

as for the 211 at the wheels my theory is this i have a 5 speed out tof a 94 legacy in there ans my car is 3500 poundss give or take that is a little more then the impreza could that be the problem? i know for sure the engine is a 2.0 i am gonn ahave to find the vin and do the research?

i actually found the engine it is a 93 impreza turbo engine not really a wrx engne yet but a impreza turbo engine.
