Ok, as some of you might know, my legacy's ej25 took a dive a month or so ago, so Im swapping to an ej20g. The question is, what if I used a 2002 WRX ECU, with the 1998 JDM Sti ej20g? Hopefully I can get an ECU with a wiring harness. Thanks for the input....

 

Last EJ20G was in a 1995 impreza are you sure its a 98 impreza???

 

it might have been a '95. Im just worried aboot the wiring. Also, has anyone purchased a motor from nippon? Any help is much appreciated (sp?)

Without sounding rude a EJ20G ECU has four connectors running to the ECU while later models had 3. Second a Ver 7 has 3 timing marks on the cam gears while a Ver 2 has 7. Making the harness work is a big actually huge pain as I have done this but it was all JDM. My suggestion is get the harness as it will be alot easier to do it this way. If you cannot do it this way take your time and put some friends to use as wiring can be an eternal pain in the butt. If there are any specifics you need I may be able to help you if I can get the USDM pin out and scematics. Actually if I can get these I should be able to make a FAQ on whats required with a few of the people on here to help!!! No matter what happens keep it up you guys in the states are making it easier day by day to chop my car in half to send it back!!!!
