I'm looking around for folks that have done this as I'm considering doing it and I just want to figure out exactly how it's done. Positives, negatives. Smoggable? etc.

Anyone done this... or something similar?

The 04 transmission will not bolt up directly to the 09 motor I believe.

Throw in a EJ255. I love the smoothness of that motor!

I think I will end up going that route.

Just trying to figure out how I can pass BAR with one and keep my 04ecu. I don't want to mess with rewiring the car.

Do a simple "hybrid" build. 2.5 block with 2.0 heads. If you want to get fancy, talk to EQ about doing their CNC job to your heads so they match with the 2.5 cylinders.

If you do a hybrid, they'll never know its a 2.5 unless you tell them it is.
