2000 RS, STi swap. will it bolt up?

Hey,

I've got a 2000 RS and found a good deal on a 04 STi engine and complete wire harness.

will the RS tranny hold up to the higher HP from the STi engine? or do I need to ugrade tranny/rear diff etc...

thanks

its all relative to the condition of your trans and how you drive it. I've ran my RS trans with a 07 wrx engine and stressed first gear to the point of it roaring really bad, so if you go that route expect to fix the transmission at some point.

Sti engine very powerfull 300hp. I would recomend to install tranny from Sti or just upgrade a little bit your current tranny. Is your this engine turbo or not? If not, you defenetly need a wrx tranny or sti. Well what you think U6T9

i recommend payin' the extra cash for the STI tranny and diff/axles because it will give you less headache in the long run...

The engine will bolt up, but you will have to merge a lot of the wirings.

And its a ***** to do. I just did a swap but I used a 2003WRX engine. What it comes down to is how much power you want to be running. A WRX swap with some bolt on will be faster then most things out there.
