Is it wrong to want an Evo?
I had an evo 9 MR before my subie. I loved it, minus the extremely expensive payment and insurance. After i totalled it... (driving like a dumbass)... i decided to get a subie because i always enjoyed the sound and really liked the look. Now i couldn't be happier... Its your car man get whatever makes you happy
Semi-true. the Evo 9 and below are raw.... however... the Evo X is smooth as butter. IF I could afford it.. I would get one... but I can;t so I will make due with my wrx.
Haha I just started a part out and sold half my set up because I wanted to switch to an evo. I'm keepin the suby though only because evos are so expensive. I don't really want to get another 25k car loan and if you try to but from a private seller most on have mods already and good luck gettin that to pass smog for the sale

Its not a bad choice just that interior wont be like the STi/WRX its really all up to you. It would be just like asking some guy if they prefer a nice slim girl or a nice thick girl. Subarus (IMO) is more curvy and Mits is more non curvy.
Really fast or Fast with the benefits ?

but seriously - i cross-shopped the evoX and '11 sti sedan over and over and over for months
the verdict was the STI sedan over the evoX, but i can't help to always want an evo for a few reasons - the handling was amazing. the 'creature comforts' of the keyless entry/start, the better fitting recaro's, the sharp lines of the body...
but at teh end of the day, the sti was still more liveable. one of the biggest clinchers for me as a dd was the folding rear seat. the evo had that ghastly rockford sub system in the trunk, making the trunk too small for more than a bag of chips, and the dash/stereo console was terrible.
still, i'll probably look for a stock evo down the line, probably own both for the heck of it...

I wanted an evo x before I got my sti. Luckly I could never get one at the right price. Test drove one once. Sti's are alot more comfortable. Specially if the passanger(front) or driver have a big ***

LOL
Im not an I-club historian but I think this is the 3rd time a thread like this has been started, the last time it was Brucelee.....lol
It all depends on what you are into. The STI, and the EVO are eachothers class competitors Japanese econo boxes with awesome motors.
I like the EVO particularly the 8 because it is easy to make them go fast. I.E. Cams, Injectors, Turbo, E-85.....It will unarguably make more horsepower cheaper, and easier than the STI hands down.......Longgevity wise if you dont rev it to 8k all the time it will go the distance, but at high power levels you WILL be replacing your clutch every 10k miles..........
The STI is and always has been more refined. to each his or her own but no IMO you are not bad for wanting an EVO. If I had the funds I would have both.....I would rally out my subie, and track out my evo......
