Stupid question, but i need confirmation

Since ive posted the question on 3 sites and not gotten a response, ill post it in the local forum this time.

Looking at a ej257 block going into the car for rebuild, but it has no internals, so id be using mine, along with my heads etc. The crank is the question piece, will my 251 crank drop into a 257? I hear about lots of people putting sti internals into their gm's 251's, but i'm worried they might not be backwards compatable, any ideas guys?

If both crank designs are the same. Im not sure about anything internally on the subaru engines, but in theory if they are both the same just different stroke lengths and weight differences, the msot you should have troubles with should be the crank and rod bearings. Thats what I would think!

Def. talk to a tuner or someone at a machine shop who is very familiar with subaru engines

Physically. ..the n/a ej 251 crank will fit. But it will not last in a boosted engine.
