spring install help

spring install help

I got some tein high tech springs that I could use some help with. If you have some free time I would appreciate the help and I do not have a spring compressor

You can rent spring compressors at Kragen and Auto Zone. Like $40.

Not only that, but when you return the compressor, they give you your money back. Pretty good deal IMO.

I did the macho thing and used my hand for some tein s techs! If your putting lowering springs you won't need the spring compressor with the stock struts!!

I wouldn't chance it, the slightest pressure on the top nut could crossthread or strip the threading coming up the tophat.

Haha, or use three people and zip ties. That's what I did for getting stock springs on my sti struts long ago. I'll see if I can find a picture of the ghettoness.

This. Be very careful threading AND torquing the top hat. You can blow your threads too easy.

F the threads you can bust out some teeth doing the above. I would be safe and use the compressors to take the stock springs off. Trust me I've seen it before.

LOL dangggg! I'm going to SpeedElement on tuesday to install my s.tech's and also an Invidia Downpipe. I guess you saved at least $150

You should throw away those s-techs. Distance yourself from them as much as possible!!!
