Moving back to Modesto
Hey all
I'm moving back to Modesto California after being gone for 6 years.
Have a few questions for some fellow subie peps. I bought my car here in AZ and have done a few performance mods. Can I keep these mods in Cali?
Also does anybody know of a good smog shop?
Chris

Welcome back to Modesto!
In my opinion i think you should make your car as stock as possible when smogging it then put the performance parts back on when your done Oh if you get pulled over by the cops you are require to have CARB legal stickers or numbers on the parts or they will sent you to the ref.
I always go to the smog station on scenic and d street near the dmv. It's $40 with cert and the man there is really cool and if you don't pass he will help you out.

If you have carb exempt numbers for your parts you'll pass visually, if not you will fail the visual. Unless the guy doesnt know what hes looking at then you'll be fine. No 4wheel dynos they really dont exist for the smog program. Just a 2500rpm and idle test. Then the computer will scan your car's computer for any codes and to see if the drive monitors have reset. Any other questions regarding smog PM me im a smog tech in hanford.
