I need some input about pricing my car...

Hey guys, circumstances have brought me to the decision to sell my car I understand that mods don't necessarily add value to a car, but I have had the motor rebuilt by EQ Tuning. The car has 105,900 miles on it, but the new motor has only 20,400. Blue book value is $10,475. I'm stuck on the pricing because it now has a different motor.

Engine:
-EQ stage 1 short block (also is a 2.5 instead of the stock 2.0)
-The heads also had a 5 angle job done, and the combustion chamber were CNC'd to match the combustion chamber of EJ257 heads.
-Sti Top mount
-VF43
-Grimmspeed ported and polished intake manifold, and exhaust manifold w/ high flow cross pipe.
-DW 750cc injectors

Also have all supporting mods. The car runs great, i have not had a single problem with it. It has 285hp and 325ft-lbs. Thanks in advance! I hate that i am even posting this!

I would not consider your motor being upgrades, your KBB value is with a motor. Your car is worth most what KBB says! I could understand if you had a bunch of aftermarket parts it might be worth more.

I recently sold mine right before I went overseas. I was able to sell it for about 1500 over KBB. Just be firm with the price and if someone is really that interested in it then they will buy it for that price. Good luck.

The KBB price qoute's my car as if it had a 2.0l motor with 105,000 miles, but it now has a 2.5l with a little over 20,000 miles on it. I do have a lot of aftermarket parts..

Well..we could trade engines if you like :P just to make a 2.0 hehe seriously tho, be sure to have proof of work for the engine and explain eqs rep and be very firm. In this market be prepared for alot of low ballers and bs. I would say if you keep that set up and don't part out for stock 1500 over book price

I know this is an old thread but I feel then need to reply.... Get an appraisal from a private appraisal company & give them all of your receipts to review. After looking at your car & taking into consideration the value of your mods you will have a true value on paper to give to any interested buyer.

Depending on what company you hire they usually charge $100-$200 for this service. After my car was in an accident geico (my INS) came out & appraised my car for free. It was worth $5,000 over blue book. So ask your INS co if they offer this if you're cars up for sale if not there's plenty of companies to choose from. Good luck if your still trying to sale your car.
