HELP! what would you guys do?
hey guys im having some major problems and would like your opinions and suggestions! the clutch is wasted on my 06 so i start looking for shops to do the work. i gave an undisclosed shop my car early thursday morning and expected to get it back friday. come friday i go to the shop right before closing and they say their was a prob with the car, the new clutch was installed but it was not engaging. so whatever they keep the car and end up buying a new clutch disk for it because they damaged the other clutch on the install. i pick my car up today, monday, and my clutch pedal is extremely soft and the shifter jerks when i shift into 3rd and when i shift into 4th it pops back out.....so my actions as of so far are that i called the shop and told them i was taking my car to subaru to get looked at and fixed and i want them to pay for it. the guy argues with me on the phone and tells me to do whatever i want. WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS DO
p.s. i provided all the parts to the shop. i was going to have someone help me with the install but it fell through so thats when i started lookin for the shops

it is their responsibility to road test the car and give it back to you in ''good'' working condition. take the car back to the shop and give them the oppertunity to correct their mistake.even though they dont deserve it be polite.
back to the shop that broke it and don't pick it up till it's right... Shop's don't like to pay other shops to fix cars they f'ed up... Gotta take it back to the idiots.... I'm actually having the same sort of problem with the Suby dealership in Turlock CA
Definitely take it back to the same shop and make them fix it. If they give it back and it's not, you gotta give them the chance to make it right. If that doesn't work, then you can start thinking about taking it to other shops again.
Also, and this is just a suggestion, I would have posted this in the drive train forum. You'll get more hits from a broader spectrum of people in many different areas. They may also have had the same problem. I'm not sure why people post problems like these in the regional forums. I-Club is the only forum I belong to where people do that. I'm not sure why... but yeah... try the drive train forum. You might run into someone that can give you insight into what is actually happening with your ride. Good luck man...

and another thing.... did they buy the new clutch disk or you? Tell me if I'm reading you right... they put the new clutch disk in... it didn't work... as a result, it got damaged... then they put in another new one and finally gave it back to you... Am I right? If so, who bought the 2nd disk? You said you brought in all the parts so I know you bought the first one. Who bought the second? If you say it's you, you just got took man. They need to pay for that **** too.

are you sure they got you a clutch that will work with the 06? The 06 clutch is different from the 02-05 models (im pretty sure) so if they just picked one up for a Subaru it could be the wrong part.

i purchased all the parts the first time. an exedy stock clutch kit from gripforce on ebay. i called gripforce and they told me it was for an 06. the shop installed it and damaged it than they purchased another clutch disc from subaru.....i took it back to the shop today. they test drove it with me and the shop manager tells me the clutch doesnt cause the shifter to pop out of 4th gear, he said it might be an internal transmission problem... hes takin it to a tranny shop for a second opinion to a shop which he picked.... my arguement is if it is an internal problem with the tranny why was my car holding every gear fine before i took it to the shop to get the clutch replaced
