Hey guys trying to help a friend sell his Explorer
heres his craigslist post
'93 Ford Explorer XL; 5-speed manual
$1000
'93 Ford Explorer XL
Clean title, no accidents
Straight body with only one noticeable dent
The paint is still in excellent condition with no rust spots
The interior is in superb condition with no tears, burns or stains
Gas gauge and tachometer do not work, however, everything else is in incredible shape
All electrical components are functional with no shorts
No leaks or drips, whatsoever!
Tires still have a lot of tread
Sony Xplod CD deck
Heater works great, A/C not so well, but somewhat. Probably just needs a refill, but I could care less in the local climate
Engine is still really strong; I just recently had a head and both head gaskets replaced for over $2,000, last year
Brand new clutch [clutch plate, flywheel, pressure plate, slave cylinder] just installed the beginning of 2012; cost around $300 total for the parts alone
New battery, replaced last summer; about $100
Turns on without a problem and engine runs really strong and smooth
Passes smog with no problems, and registered until August 2012
Kelly Blue Book value is well over $2,000
The reason I'm selling so cheap is the transmission; it abruptly started making a whining sound just a week or so ago
It still drives with no problems at all; the new clutch can get you up to speed without any hesitation
A new transmission is worth around $700, so I figure with the money you'd save on this purchase, you can hypothetically use towards a new transmission when the time comes.
Price is negotiable

Thanks,
Chris
