WRX battery problem

Need some info, maybe you guys can help explain.

We all know how to start a manual car. Press the clutch and then turn the key. Well today I got curious and tried to do the process backwards. I turned the key, then pushed in my clutch. The car started up and died right away. I realized that there was no electricity current going through the car, so somehow what i did completely sucked the life out of my battery. Has this every happened to anyone before? Did I seriously harm my car? TIA.

i sometimes do it reverse too, but not on purpose. its such a habit to me to do the turn key+press the clutch that sometimes i just end up turning the eye and split second later ill step on the clutch. my car starts fine. no problem with me. you might wanna check your battery. if it sucked the life out of your battery, your battery was prob on the edge of dying anyways. i dont think starting a car would suck out the power of a full batter.
