First off I have a 2003 WRX sedan. Just got a new rear bumper cover and dent pulled and painted on left rear 1/4 last sunday. Today I am driving for work and come to a red light. So I stop wait, wait, wait, zone out, zone out, "GREEN", clutch, first, clutch release. Truck on my left (left turn only lane) screeches stop, BAM!!! I was drilled by a Buick Roadmaster (Chevy LT1 Impala/ Caprice) going at least 55 mph (speed limit). Hit my front end before the tires, spun me round and our asses hit. My entire car is tweaked! The force was so hard that the jack broke its mount, broke through the trap door, and across the trunk. Driver door is minorly damaged by the front, but the force broke the handle off, its just hangin there. Where there should be a battery there is mush. My Apexi N1 cat back tip pushed its way up into my bumper cover. About 5-6 inch between tire and bottom of right front fender. Entire left side damaged, hood, trunk. Cant open hood, wont start, bent rim, and shot my grille about 20 feet off the road into a yard. Both cars had to be towed. I put Sparco 4 point harnesses in the car with a Speedware harness bar. Because of this my airbags did NOT deploy. My only injurys are: hit head on driver side window, and I have a bad right knee and the brake pedal force rapped my knee. Got out and *****ed at the lady, made her cry. Then she tells the cops that it was her beater car and not to worry about it. I was soooooo pissed. Even though my car is most likely totalled (waiting for insurance to verify) I am VERY happy with Subaru safety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now it is time for me to get an STi. Pictures to come within 3 days.

When I posted about buying your apexi I had no clue what you had been through or the loss you have suffered today. I remove my hat, a good Subaru was lost today in the fight to save a life. Good luck and God's speed.

Glad to hear you're ok. Must've been a pretty hard impact for your jack to come out into your trunk like that. Sounds like the car held up pretty good against that full size car. Good thing you weren't in a Civic.
Driving a small car like our Subies makes me worried sometimes when I drive around my 3 year old and 9 month old. Maybe the ultimate in safety would be an H2 with a trailer hitch attached...

I had an experiance like that in a Saab 9-5 wagon vs. standing still, and getting hit by a ford F350 going 55mph. He didnt even get his foot over the brake
The saab dove underneath the front of the Chevy Impala in front of us so that thier bumper was slightly over the windsheild. Thankfully to all of Saabs safety, we only came out with sore necks, and a car whose rear end was pushed up to the rear seats.
Thank god for safety stuff! Good thing to hear your alright!

you made her cry. I know people can't drive, people make mistakes, but try to be calm after an accident and at least make sure everyone is alright..
sucks to hear it, hope you are okay soon, and you will have the wrx up and running or gl with the new STi

Everybody has different reactions to coming within a couple of feet of being killed. I say yellling at her was one of the milder paths you could have taken.

A-Wipes and beaters. I was in a SUV that was bumped buy a beater truck. The guy was chucking about his truck being a beater and his good car was in storage. Wrecked the bumper skin on my friends durango. As the guy watched I kicked his grill into the radiator causing it to burst. I said to him " It must have happened on impact" He did not say a thing to the cops. He did stop laughing.
Some people have no respect for their own property so how can they have respect for others. At least if she would have killed you in michigan she may have got jail time.
