as BAN SUVS once said, the USDM STi is almost a Spec C now.

not even close. The US spec has too many luxury amenities. I can live without those.

I thought that SOA went with a 2.5 liter engine to pass US emissions. If so, it wouldn't make sense to release the spec c in the US. Maybe SOA will release a USDM Spec C with a tougher block and bigger turbo.

no, thats not what I want. I do not want to buy a car and to strip it just to make it lighter. I would prefer something thats out of factory and ready to race.

I know the USDM STi is almost a spec C. But the keyword is still "almost".

I'd prefer 2.0 liter as well.

consider? yes. will it be done? no. why? not safe enough to bring here. once they make it safe enough for our safety standards... then its not a spec c anymore.
das jus my thoughts.

funny thing is that agreement has been pretty much useless for so many years as manufacturers weren't being true to that anyway.

care to elaborate why it won't be safe enough for u.s market? A spec-C is basically an STi without the luxury/comfort amenities.

^^ in japan gas is very expensive.(last time i checked it was in the ballpark of 4-5 dollars a gallon) so in order to help aleviate the the need for constant trips to the gas pump, the car is lighter. to do so the cars necessary safety beams aren't quite up to u.s. d.o.t standards, but sufficient enough for japans standards.

on another note... to have a drivers license in japan its much more intense than getting one here- there you take a drivers test along with a test in basic car maintenance(which i believe involves actual physical tests)- with that in mind i think its safe to say that(as on a whole) drivers in japan might tend to be more responsible drivers- (possibly less driving related accidents) <--- my own speculation.

all this info is second hand info from my friend from japan. his mother was visiting here last week from japan and we were talking just about what i discussed here.
if someone in japan(or from) can validy or dispute this please do. (Choku Dori? )
