It's not that she doesn't like having a Wagon for herself (she DOES drive a Vibe afterall). It's the image she has, and wants to keep, of me. Built Jeeps. Sports cars. Bad boy image... About a year ago I cut my hair (and donated it to "Locks of Love", an organization that gives bald children, ie cancer patients, real hair wigs). She was quite unhappy that I really did cut my hair, she thought I was joking when I told her what I was going to do.
I think I'll take some of your advice and take her to a dealership and SHOW her both the Wagon and the Sedan. Again, I'd prefer the Sedan for myself, but am leaning toward the Wagon overall so when we need the extra space for a trip or something I won't be stuck in the vibe.
Hey, I have a two tone wagon and I'm a crazy some*****
I mean I speed, I don't look both ways before crossing the street, I run with scissors, just yesterday I had a full meal then went swimming right after. I'm a freakin' bad, crazy, two tone wagon driver.
Anyway, get what you want...wagon style. Brian

This may be an opportunity for the relationship to change in a positive way. Why not buy the wagon and put some time and money into power mods, since you seem to be auto savy, then take her for a spin. She may very well change her mind about both the car and you. A relationship based on image alone is not much of a relationship. True love comes from what's underneath (or under the hood). So be the mature husband and father (and wagon driver) that you should be. But under your respectable and mature skin let your warrior heart still beat as strong.
My wife wondered about my choice when I purchased my wagon as well. She soon changed her mind and has come to love it as much, if not more, than me.

Tell her no way, buy the wagon and pwn in stealth mode. My girlfriend comments allot about how she thinks I drive a "grandpa" car. My best friends girlfriend says the same thing, "Josh I cant see you driving a grandpa car" Meenwhile she drives her 97 Grand AM thinking she has a "sporty" car. Its all about knowledge, and perspective.
I bet if you tell her your getting it and you dont care what she says, then hey both win A. Your a bad boy for telling her whats up and B. You get the wagon.
So tell her who is boss and law down the law, afterall isnt it what she wants.

My wife made me choose the sedan as well. She didn't like the look of the wagon. We have two kids too. Since this is our 2nd vehicle, it fits us and our kids just fine. If we go out of town for multiple nights, we take her CR-V instead.
