so a thief broke into my car and stole all my stuff. He also took off the plastic cover on the dome light and the bulb. he didnt leave behind the cover or the bulb. wtf. why did he do that? if he didnt want the light to be on (he broke in at night, obviously) , then he could have just flicked the little switch next to it i think. any ideas?

 

I'm sorry to hear that your car was broken into. I hope that your insurance settles everything to return things back to the way they were.

Hmm...I have no rational reason why he would do that. But then you have to ask yourself; "Would a rational man break into someone else's car?"

This guy is a loser plain and simple. Don't hold your breath waiting for the cops to catch him. They'll jot down a few notes and feed you the "We'll conduct and investigation" BS and they'll be on their way to do other, less effort-intensive things.

The vast majority of property (including WRXs) criminals are gassed on some type of intoxicant (gets their courage up, and/or the need to steal for the next dose of poison). Factor in the "loser" thing and you've got a stiuation ripe for silly decision making (like taking your dome light cover and bulb). WTF!? Hope your insurance carrier looks out for you OK. People, especially thieves are wierd as hell... I once had my old jeep broken into, and the only thing taken was the freakin ASHTRAY!!!!! drove around wiith a hole in my dash for about 2 years (my *** i'm paying $75 for a part i'll never use).

 

I heard about a guy that would steal a persons car every night. The guy kept on coming to his car every morning and noticing it had a full tank of gas, When he left it half full! Found out a homeless guy used it for errands at night after finding an extra set of keys in the car, then re-flled it before returning it.

 

Maybe he broke his cover so he stole yours. Just a thought. Hope your insurance covers everything.

Probably took it out so while he was in your car the light was not on.

Probably kept it in case he comes back it'd be one less thing for him to have to do.

 

thanx for the sympathy and stories guys, hehe. i guess thieves can just be stupid and irrational. i figure it was probably some high schoolers or something anyway. You know whats annoying is that they tried to pry the top of the window and jacked up the top seal along the roofline, and chipped the glass....then they decided to go for the doorhandle and pry it all to hell. wtf, just break the glass already or something. Maybe i should leave the window open for him, clearly he's a moron well anyway, i've ordered new radio mounting brackets, cuz he stole those too. Should be here soon and I can mount my stock cd player back. Hoping to replace it shortly with an mp3 player and a SECURITY SYSTEM...do these things actually deter theft or just cause neighbors to hate you?
