Question Vortech Supercharged Mustang GT or Impreza STi

I was just wondering which of these two cars you guys would choose. A 2006 Mustang GT Coupe "Deluxe edition" with a Vortech Supercharger kit (price w/kit = $30,000 (not including installation of the kit) or a 2005/2006 style body STi (price = around $32,000). Both brand new. Don't get me wrong a STi is a STi, killer looks, speed, the works but on the other hand a supercharged mustang sounds mighty tastety also and with that extra grand or whatever you could put a nice exhaust on there too.... (Vortech kit is putting out about 460hp safely (they claim)) <-- talk about voiding your warrenty If you would like vote above or just discuss it below. Thanks BTW: I like to use parentheses!

given your location I'd say STi for the simple fact that you get all kinds of weather, and a high power rear-driver just isn't much fun in the snow (well . . . fun yes, safe no). so for a DD I'd say STi, now if its a second car . . . then its a tough choice.

yeah I know what you mean. I'm not looking to buy either one (Just yet ) but for practicallity I think the STi would be better in the Northeast by all means. I uncle bought a RX8 a year or two ago and he couldn't go anywhere in the winter so he also bought a 700 junkbox to get around in the snow. The dam mazda kept getting stuck everywhere he went, and he was slideing all over the place lol I told him to get a Subaru too....

I voted for the Mustang. Up here in MA the weather can be ridiculous, so if you are looking for a daily driver as said before... go with the STi.. no doubt. If it's a weekend warrior, then go for the Mustang. I like the styling of the new ones a lot, and adding a SC will only make it more fun.

Depends on your weather, and roads. And of course what about plan to do with it. You can for sure make the mustang handle nice. Ide say go with the s/c'd mustang. Go with a Kenne Bell tho

I'd go with the sti, myself. I get accustomed to power when i drive it fairly regularly, and just see it as something to make the throttle adjust the attitude of the car. I've never driven a mustang that i liked the handling character that much.

Although, if the new mustang is as fun (not necessarily as fast) in the twisties, then i'd go for that.

mustand might be fast in a straight line and sound good but all the other points go to the STi. How long can a blown Stang last for anyways? Is this a real question STi all th WAY!

Mines blown with 58,000 miles on it, its a 2003 (I commute a lotttt) Runs beautifully, never any problems... but ah...

one night I was feeling like superman so I dropped the clutch @ full boost while downshifting to make a left turn... and well.. broke a couple teeth in the differential, set me back 500 bucks, no biggie... But that was my own fault for driving like a moron... But yeah engine-wise, mechanically, nothings given me any problems... Interior quality could be better.. but the new 05s and much more refined... I also considered the stang or a WRX Limited... The WRX is my choice... STi imho is too flashy, but thats just my pov

WRXs are more well-rounded cars than stangs, but yeah, have fun deciding! Do your research before you buy, the worst regrets are those that cost $ 30,000

blown stangs routinely run well past 100k mi, that is as long as you dont change the pulley (ie more boost), and you have someone knowledgeable to do the tuning (chicayne motorsports etc.).

so basically this decision is about a moded mustang vs a stock sti?

because everyone knows that an sti would probably own a mustang gt in every aspect except for maybe a drag race.

go with the sti

I'd take the STI..

Now if you asked Shelby GT500 or Impreza STI I would have to pick the GT500 450+ HP and factory Warrenty Baby

Mustang for the money.

With all that power you can always go drifting.
