It does have adjustable suspension settings, which is nice if you don't want to be bounced around all the time...
The Haldex AWD is nice, and is very capable all weather (also found on Audi TT...) but is not a pure performance AWD like the DCCD on the STi. It's also equipped with DSTC, which is a yaw control computer to help the car corner "better". Many performance drivers disable such devices because they have the capability to override driver inputs, but from a day to day, and a safety standpoint, it's a nice system.
However, check out www.swedespeed.com before you buy. Many S60R owners who drive those cars even reasonably hard have had excessive warranty claims and are quite dissatisfied with them. Unlike Subaru, I've never had a problem with VCNA refusing a warranty claim, but that's little consolation when you're driving a ford contour rental car while your car's in the shop AGAIN. I haven't personally seen any cars with major maintence issues, but I have heard of it.

I picked up my S60R today, I like it but I couldn't let go of my STi, so now I have both, anyone interested in a gokart or 89 Mustang GT, I have to liquidate.
New insight from my co-worker.
He got rid of the car because his lease was up. He liked it but he thought that the turning radius was way to big and it became a slight PITA to drive in parking lots and stuff. Mind you we live in Hawaii where everything is squished together.
The reason why he has two cars right now is that the Jag is still on lease, he paid the lease off but they said that he can hold onto it for a couple more months. Anyways, he figured why not and just parks it at our office in case someone needs to use it or whatevers.

update on the S60 there are plenty of similarities turbo, intercooler, 2.5 liter, brembo brakes, but the most glaring issue is the fact that the turning radius sucks on the S60R.

Checked it out but I didn't see anthing about the turning radius, maybe I missed it. Since I still have my Sti I can always make tight turns in it, I never had a problem. I just had steel braided brake lines added. I thought the Sti brakes were remarkable before, I don't know what to say now.

The wheels don't rub when turning my "R" .I took my Sti out yesterday, Boy!! that car is fast now the S60R seems fast but when you compare it with an Sti with a bigger fuel pump and reflash etc. There is no comparison in the short spurts. I have a reflash slated for July and then I'll see if the S60R gets any closer

Do you have a 6 speed or Geartronic?
I sold my '01 S60 T5 w/ Geartronic to buy my STi. I hope you have a great Volvo ownership experience, much better than my last 4 years have been at least
Check out the following Volvo vendors:
http://www.ipdusa.com
http://www.eurosporttuning.com/
Also, SAM - Steffanson, couldn't find the website offhand but they are a Swedish company that specializes in Volvo tuning. I think IPD sells their products here.
http://www.vvspy.com used to have great forums. A lot of support through some rough periods.
Good luck!
