they attempted to do that, but jeremy clarkson said no because he wants doesn't want to spend 1/2 the year in the states. he said something like he likes the money, but he doesn't want to be away from his family.

I have a pretty good feeling about Carolla/Stromer & Faust as the resident hot shoe.

What'll splatter fail sauce on it is the producers keeping whats set for air in line with the advertisers (i.e. Automotive Industry) in order to keep the show funded.

No product to test+No ad sales = road to failure. Knowing NBC it will run either before or after Knight Rider. There's a reason that AutoWeek has lasted so long on PBS.

Unless they some how turned this into "The Office" sort of UK to US transition, then I suppose this could work, but man, the cars they have overseas that never touch US soil are just awesome. I don't know if anything beats Jeremy Clarkson doing a South Central LA-style drive by with a semi automatic during that outdoors automotive triathalon winter challenge thing where one of the obstacle courses was to shoot at some targets with a rifle. Smarmy sarcastic British humor's the best. Adam Carolla's funny and he did pretty well with The Man Show on Comedy Central about a decade ago, but I'm curious to see how funny he is with car jargon. I loved how the original UK cast totally bashed on the Corvette's outdated suspension system (they did say it was a pretty good car though). "....if you like a plastic left hand drive car with a Vietnamese suspension."

I don't think it will be anything like the UK version, but I can only hope. I don't think I will be that interested in only seeing American cars.

i think it'll be fail because i dont think they will be bashing on american cars like top gear does (which is why it makes the show so good).

host is one thing, i do believe american hosts can pull it off but what sets it apart about top gear is their cinematography(s?).
their editing(sound and video) and their camera work is just amazing to watch.
in my opinion, aussie top gear is bad...i mean, really, its boring to watch, i only watch it only because its top gear. horrible camera angles during their time attack, over done challenges...i mean, top gear has challenges here and there but so far, aussie's version of top gear has had challenges on all of their episodes so far and most of them are boring to watch.

sorry for being so negative but its just my love for them all

Tanner should be an excellent stig replacement. Not only does he drift in the Formula D, but he rallies, time attacks, and stunt drives. May not be a F1 driver, but a great driver none the less. His reviews on spikeTV's supercars exposed or whatever was pretty good, I didn't think he was holding back any negitive opinions.

I'm really looking forward to it, and I think it will do great. Lots of top gear fans in America, not to mention car fans in general... What car fan wouldn't like a show like top gear?

I don't normally like Adam Corolla, but he's a huge car nut and is the closest thing to Jeremy Clarkeson that we have.

Bump from the grave...

Well now it will premier almost 2 1/2 years after we heard about it,

I will give it a try, but like most shows that originate from over the pond, I am sure we are bound to screw it up. I watch top gear on bbc for the host. The 3 of them together is what makes it funny and worth watching.

Hopefully they will get some good cars on there. I just dont see VW/Bugatti letting Adam Corolla drive a brand new bugatti at top speed... but we will see
