Question Suspension

i have an 05 sti. i want it lower so Of course i want to get coil overs but they are super expensive. so i was loking at some H and R springs and they have sport springs for like $350 compared to a $2,000 set of coil overs. so my question is will strait springs lower it enough, and will it handle better, the same or worse? what do you guys have, and what works good for handling and a low enough look?

I can't speak specifically for the STi kit, but I like my H&R sport kit, they lower 1.3" front/rear, it's nice because it closed the wheel gap but isn't so low that it creates problems pulling in driveways and whatnot. The handling is improved, though not as much as it would be with coils, but the ride quality with traditional springs is more comfortable. Also, keep in mind that it's a good idea to replace your struts when you lower. While not absolutely required, lowering will noticeably reduce the life of your factory struts, and it's easier to replace everything at one time and get one alignment than it is to do it separately.
