Subaru Roadster

Just got my new issuse of Popular Mechanics and there is a subbie 2-seater (plz not wrx seats..lol) roadster concept car in it. That would be totally sweet with a wrx or sti motor, but the article says hybrid, so I'm guessing that if it does make it to production it won't have either of these motors..bummer.

Yeah, the car was announced about a year ago.

The hybrid engine is pretty cool, actually, as it bolt directly up to the Subaru 4 liter engine block without too much effort. Meaning, we could get a whole fleet of electric cars, if Subaru felt it was viable.

That's the Subaru Scrambler concept car, it makes less than 150hp with a gas motor and a hybrid battery system.

150 hp..that sucks. I would buy one in a heartbeat if they would produce one with a powerplant like the Volta has. I mean the Volta is only in the concept stage, but the majority of Toyota's go into production. 408 hp, 0-6 in 4 seconds...If Subaru could produce numbers like that in this ride that would be really SWEET.
Here is an article I saw about the Volta
