Subaru cams

ok, me and my friend have the hood of his wrx up and we're staring at the engine, and we're talking about cams. he said it was dual overhead cams, so i was like, does that mean 2 or 4? how many cams does a wrx have?

Car Info: GF8 ver6

WRX is DOHC. 2cams on each head. Total 4. If you drive Integra, then you'll be surprised to see how short Subaru cams are because each cam is only responsible for 2 cylinders.

thanks, i was also thinking they had to be pretty short since they only control half. now for another dumb question, have they not come out with performance cams because the ej20 is so new on this market or is there really no need with turbo kits and other things?

There are plenty of cams avaliable. JUN, HKS are the two brands I am craving for.

Yeah, they are short. About a foot long each.

yeah, they make good billy clubs too. my friend wrecked one in his ej25, so he kept handy at the shop when he was working late. they even have a nice little handle! haha
