im getting lot's of videos of srt-4's pulling on sti's from a roll start.. can someone explain this to me? and why a car with more hp / tq to the wheels is losing to a very underated car. thanks

I was thinking the same thing, it might be the lag on the STi's turbo, no I really dont know but I figure I give it a shot and isnt the SRT lighter also? I want to get into a SRT-4 before I get a STi in a about a year or so but I heard this is the last production year for them.

I think the STi should be fast4r but if the srt is modded, look out

it's a 2.5 l boxer .... and yea the awd to the wheels vs. the front wheel drive to the wheels were talking more loss for the awd. but here's the thing

300hp/300tq vs. 230/250 (veryyy under rated)
3351 lb vs. 2970 lb car

the thing i've been noticing is that once the srt-4 picks up traction.. it starts to pull very hard by car lenghts. stock vs. stock. please someone explain...

You just answered your own question. From a roll, the STi has already lost its superior launch advantage, so the parasitic drivetrain loss due to AWD and it's extra 380ish lbs. starts to slow the car down. Regardless, the only time an STi owner should be worried about a stock SRT-4 is on the highway.

I've pulled a stock SRT4 pretty good from a roll with my VF34 WRX w/ stock intercooler on an off the self cobb map. I'd think a stock STi would be able to fend it off.

sti boost 14.5 stock
str4 boost 18.5 stock

has good pull but if you know how to drive your STI. str4 wont pull on you. even on freeway.
