Skyline conversion for US

Does anyone know about how much it is to convert a Skyline over to meet US specs? I'm going to Japan in 7 months and if I get a chance to buy a Skyline I'm sure not to pass it by. I'm gonna try to get the GT-R R34 (I think that's it) model.

Thanks
SZ

Yah you might want to just buy Spec-C or MR parts ship them back to the states to install.

Or wait till 2007 when teh GT-R makes it to the states.

the gt-r is coming to the states? sweetness. will it be like the infiniti or the r34 style?

oh yah, i was looking on ebay and motorex earlier. someone selling gtr's on ebay said it would generally cost around $30,000 and that motorex is the only company that figured out a problem with the ODBII or something like that. Motorex also said it would vary a lot depending on the model. I think it was ranging from 10 to 30 thousand, if you brought in your own skyline from japan, and that isn't counting the shipping fees and other random fees that come up.

The announcement is not official yet, but there seems to be pretty strong sentiment that we will get a GT-R by 2007. Anyways, since the new Skyline in Japan looks like the Infiniti G35, its probably safe to assume that the new GT-R will look like the Infinity.

The Skyline and GT-R are becoming two SEPARATE models. Like the Celica and Supra did years ago. I'm hoping the GT-R will be totally different than the G35, except for the chasis.

No, the Supra was originally a Celica Supra. Same car, just an option package. Then they became two distinct models. That is supposed to be what's happening with the Skyline and GT-R. They will be two totally separate lines. Nissan said that the Skyline was going to be more of a luxury car while the GT-R will be the performance flagship.

I heard a rumor that we ALREADY HAVE THE SKYLINE! It's called Infiniti G35.
