Skyline conversion for US
Does anyone know about how much it is to convert a Skyline over to meet US specs? I'm going to Japan in 7 months and if I get a chance to buy a Skyline I'm sure not to pass it by. I'm gonna try to get the GT-R R34 (I think that's it) model.

yeah that link is the Best way to get any good Japan imprt to the US. Note though that it will cost over $80K to get a Skyline R34 V spec to the states legally. the car itself runs $50K and the conversion and trouble almost doubles the cost. GL with it if you have the $$. Please post it if you do get it here. Also look into the STi Spec C /or the Evo 8 MR cause Stock wise the STi and EVO will beat the R34

Just remember, Motorex can only legalize the GT-R because they crash tested them. They can't legalize anything other than the R-32, R-33, & R-34 GT-Rs and 2-door GTSs. If you take an Evo or a Spec C to them they're going to look at you like you're from Mars (your best bet for those cars is www.evolutionimports.com). Shipping will be about $1500-$2000 and is generally not included in Motorex's legalization price.

oh yah, i was looking on ebay and motorex earlier. someone selling gtr's on ebay said it would generally cost around $30,000 and that motorex is the only company that figured out a problem with the ODBII or something like that. Motorex also said it would vary a lot depending on the model. I think it was ranging from 10 to 30 thousand, if you brought in your own skyline from japan, and that isn't counting the shipping fees and other random fees that come up.

hehe the Celica and the Supra where 2 different chassis wherent they... whats that gotta do with this?
Anyways theyre are rumors about the 07 GT-R. It obviously WILL NOT look like the R34 due to the Skylines new look (G35). The big question is gonna be is Nissan gonna send it out as a Nissan or an Infinity? that is still in debate. I assume that it will come out as an Infinity with optional leather and all to go against the M3 or the new M4. The ATTESSA-ETS system is here on the G35 sedan but is not on the Coupe yet. They also said that they were going away from the quad rear light set up but they may go with it on the GT-R models when they come to the states. well we will see in a few years

i think that nissan is going to market this as opposed to infiniti. heard a rumour that we may be getting the skyline in 05...
