I don't want this to be a thread where everyone says "Mitsubishi's suck" or anything like that. I love my car to death, but I need something more practicle, cheaper, and less sporty. I still want something that is fun to drive, but something that won't cost me tons of money to maintain, which is why I want a WRX wagon. I might look at getting a 05 LGT Wagon, but that costs roughly the same price as my evo, and I want something cheaper.
What are the differences going to be? Obviously, it is going to be slower, but is the weight that much different? Are the wagons still fun to drive?
EDIT: How is it going to handle compared to the evo? More understeer? How does it handle in the snow?
And btw, this is my first post and I should have searched, but I figure I might as well introduce myself while I was at it.

yes but i want to try and save some money... my price range is roughly around 18k, and anything less would be better. i kinda want a brand new car, but im not willing to pay that much for it. i want some money left over for other "musical" needs.
You shouldn't have a problem finding a used wrx wagon for that price. There was a brand new 2005 wrx wagon here at Jensons in Napa for 19.5k, I guess they really wanted to get rid of it.

yes there is going to be more understeer then your used to, even in snow... especially in snow. You can help that out alot by getting an ALK (anti lift kit). It replaces the rear A arm mounts with ones a little taller with stifer bushings. This changes the steering geomitry a bit. Go for the race ones (stiffer bushings) you wont notice much more squeeking over the 'sport ones'. should only cost you about $80 and a couple of hours to put them in.
Also if the understeer is still driving you nuts upgrading the rear sway bar will help the issue (I think 24 mill is what you want on a wagon).
Its going to be slower but the wagons have a heavier rear end than your used to so when the back end starts to step out on you it will be alot more controlable and not "snap" on you nearly as much.
In snow you will notice on power a vast tendincy to understeer if the wheel is under 50% turned. Over 50% turned and on power you will see oversteer... (think its the way the center diff is set up).
