Porsche Carrera GT
"The Carrera GT's 5.7-liter 10-cylinder powerplant—based on Porsche's naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V-10 developed especially for racing—produces a maximum output of 612 horsepower (DIN) at 8000 rpm, with peak torque rated at 437 pound-feet. Porsche claims the Carrera GT, with its specially developed six-speed manual gearbox, has a top test-track speed of 205 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and 0 to 124 mph in 9.9 seconds. Weighing in at 3042 pounds, the Carrera GT is built around a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque and sub-frame. To achieve as much downforce as possible, the Carrera GT has an underbody geometry similar to that in pure racing cars—the underbody is completely cased in carbon fiber and provides an additional suction effect thanks to its rear diffuser and flow channels. For maximum stopping power, the Carrera GT features the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system, which was first used on a production car in the 911 Carrera GT2. Ceramic is also used for the clutch, which Porsche labels PCCC (Porsche Ceramic Composite Clutch). Rolling stock consists of extremely light magnesium wheels wearing 265/35ZR-19 front and 335/30ZR-20 rear tires. The roof system consists of two individual carbon fiber shells—weighing only 5.3 pounds each—that can be stored in the front luggage compartment." - Car and Driver
