Did you have the car tuned for 16.5psi? Or are you planning on turning up the boost yourself with a manual boost controller, and not adjusting anything else.

If it is the latter, then I don't think octane booster will make much difference.....

I have used the "NoS" brand before, and it does feel like it makes a little difference.

torco is supposedly safe for every day use, but it does create an orange buildup in the turbine and downpipe. This is generally referred to as MMT fouling and some people claim it will shorten the life of your spark plugs. In my experience, however, there were no adverse effects to the plugs. Torco is the only octane booster I've tried that actually works.

So that same orange build-up doesn't affect any other part of the engine? I would assume that if it's affecting that, it's do stuff elsewhere also, right?

Could be.. i've never opened a motor that had run torco for a long time. I did pull the plugs and saw no orange residue on them, so I doubt its building up in the combustion chamber. It may very well clog cats, however. Still, the residue concerned me enough to stop using torco regularly and just reserve it for "special occasions."

Thanks

I have seen many tests and none raise the octane any real amount. When it says it raises the octane 9 points. It is really .9 of one octane. Of course I am talking about all of the legal crap you buy at the local parts house. Not the Torco stuff.

I actually heard that if you put that toy airplane fuel in a tank of gas......It would increase performance, but probably kill the engine.

personally i'd stick with homemade race gas. i get the 5gal xylene container from kellymoor paint store for $6 a gallon. then make a premade mix of 2gal xylene, 1 small bottle of MMO(Marvel Mystry oil) and thow that in and fill up with gas,
never mix straight xylene

that makes the mixture of about 95-97 wiht 91 cali oct.

that's more then you'll get with any octane booster crap.

xylene is 114oct and toulene(sp) is 109. i believe
