Mirage to EVO conv
Mirage to EVO conv
How difficult is it to convert an older mirage, maybe the GSX AWD model to an EVO IV? Engine, drive train, whats the deal? Oh yeah i think the last Mirage and Latest was a 2 dr. Still possible to convert???
Check out www.evolutionm.net and you'll probably find an answer there. I recall at least one person on one of these forums has done this conversion.
I thought only the Eclipse came in a GSX model? Eventhough you might be able to swap engines with an EVO and maybe bodypanels you will never get the rigidity of the EVO's frame. The EVO has over 1000 more reinforced points than the Lancer. I guess anything is possible but it will probably be more cost efficient to just buy one used next year.

I could've sworn there's no such thing as a Mirage GSX. I know there was a Galant GSX at the same point in time as the VR4, but wasn't aware of an AWD Mirage.

Hey I'm a Mirage owner (who lurks here a lot bc I'm saving for my Rex
)
There is no Mirage GSX.
If you have a Mirage up to the 96 model year you can drop in an Eclipse 4G63t will little problem.
If you have a 97-02 Mirage the only 4G63t you can drop in is from an EVO IV, V, VI, VII VIII, the Eclipse engine will not work as it is facing 180degrees in the other direction.
The allwheel drive setup will cost you thousands to do. You would probably have to use one from an EVO.
www.evolutionm.net is a good site for US Lancers and genuine EVOs, but for Mirages head to www.mirageforums.com
I'm going to warn you though, do some reading and searching before you post about this, becasue I know it's been asked a few times before, and people there are generally cranky when it comes to newbies and reposts.
My advice, get a WRX
lol

We have a guy here in Hawaii that did it. Give him a call.

But with the $$$$$ he spent, I would have just got a EVO VIII.
